KUANTAN, June 2 — Tabung Haji (TH) chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim today said that Umno never use the funds from TH Foundation for its part of contributions during ‘Ziarah Kasih Ramadan’ programme.

He said Umno and other corporate bodies issued their own funds, and it was jointly carried out with TH Foundation via closer cooperation established between them.

"It is wrong if people said that Umno use money from TH Foundation. In fact, we are collaborating where TH Foundation allocated RM7 million for the programme.

"Umno and other corporate bodies contributed RM8 million. Umno chose to give donations through this programme based on the fact that TH Foundation has an extensive network and 50 years of experience in carrying out welfare activities like this,” he said.

Abdul Azeez said this when met at the ‘Ziarah Kasih Ramadan’ programme at the Dewan Jubilee Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah here today, which was attended by Pahang Umno deputy liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin.

At the event, a total of 2,000 recipients of Kuantan and Indera Mahkota parliamentary constituencies received donations to ease their burden during the Ramadan month and preparation to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri. — Bernama
