ALOR SETAR, June 1 — The public holiday held in conjunction with the official birthday celebration of the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, in Kedah, has been amended from the first Saturday of June to the last Saturday of July, with effect from this year.

Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said in a statement that the amendment of the public holiday was stipulated throughout the five-year rule of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, beginning from this year until 2021.

"Thus, I hope that there will be no confusion on the matter for those in the state,” he said. — Bernama
