KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — A former lawyer pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here today to a charge of criminal breach of trust relating to the sale and purchase of property involving the loss of about RM2.3 million last year.
Mohd Haidar@Hasmayudin Mohd Hashim, 45, made the plea after the charge was read out to him before Judge Zulqarnain Hassan.
The accused, who is co-owner of Messrs Mohd Haidar & Co was charged with committing criminal breach of trust involving RM2,250,000 namely the differential sum and full payment on balance purchase price from Soo Hoo Sue Ling and Cham Kam Sun.
The payment was to Noraini Shikh Muhamud Bohari for the sale of Noraini’s property as in the Sale and Purchase Agreement dated Jan 8, 2016.
The offence was allegedly committed at his legal firm at No 2-2 Tower 3, Bangsar Avenue 3, Jalan Kerinchi, here, between May 9, 2016 and July 1, 2016.
Judge Zulqarnain fixed bail at RM40,000 in one surety and ordered him to surrender his passport to the court and set a 20-day trial starting on July 11.
Deputy public prosecutor Kamarul Aris Kamalluddin appeared for the prosecution while Mohd Haidar represented himself and also posted bail. — Bernama
