SINGAPORE, May 15 — There is still hope for another miracle for Yu En, a premature baby girl who survived a fatal road accident here on Saturday that killed her mother Goh Chieh Ting from Johor.

Doctors had managed to save the 24-week-old foetus in an emergency caesarean section right after the accident.

Yu En is reportedly in stable condition at the National University Hospital.

The infant has to be incubated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the next three to four months, Goh’s sister-in-law, Nicole Yuen was quoted as saying by The Straits Times today.

"Baby Yu En lost her mother just a day before Mother’s Day,” said Yuen.

Goh, 25, was six months pregnant when she was hit by a lorry while crossing a road in Jurong West Avenue 1 with her mother-in-law around 8am Saturday.

Her mother-in-law survived.

Goh’s who just got married last year, was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where she died at 9.30am.

Goh has reportedly held a long-term visiting permit and had lived near the site of the accident with her parents-in-law.

Her funeral was held today. — Bernama
