REMBAU, April 2 — Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan congratulated Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who was successful in solving the international crisis between Malaysia and North Korea.

He said this was the second crisis which was settled via a diplomatic approach.

The other was the flight MH17 incident involving a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with 298 people including crew, which was shot down in east Ukraine enroute to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam, Netherlands on July 17, 2014, he said.

According to him, Najib’s capability in successfully negotiating both the international crises demonstrated his calibre as a respected national leader.

"Recently, we have the MH17 (incident) with Ukraine… these were all rebels, but he (Najib) could telephone (them) to get the black box and the rebels said they only wanted to give it to Malaysia.

"They (rebels) did not it give to Russia, United States or to anybody… but respected Malaysia, they gave it to us. That is international recognition.  Similarly, North Korea, we could overcome it and our citizens returned safely,” he said.

He said this in his speech at a community gathering at the Chengkau People’s Housing Project, here today. Also present was state assembly speaker and Kota assemblyman Datuk Dr Awaluddin Said. — Bernama
