Parliament passes Supplementary Supply Bill

KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 — The Dewan Rakyat today passed the Supplementary Supply Bill (2016) 2017 after it was debated at the committee stage.

The bill was tabled to seek an additional allocation of RM3.081 billion for several ministries as additional expenditure for services and RM987,761,174 as first additional development expenditure of 2016.

Most of the additional expenditure for services covers Statutory Funds (RM2,248,437,560), Education Ministry (RM297,960,000); Transport Ministry (RM215,709,466); Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (RM128,000,000); Health Ministry (RM104,400,000) and Foreign Ministry (RM24,126,000). 

Apart from these, it also involves the Election Commission which will get RM62,780,000.

The bill was tabled for first reading by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Othman Aziz on March 21.
