KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — Nine streets in the federal capital were affected by flash floods at about 5.40pm today.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Enforcement Department director Ab Salim Mansor said the affected locations were Jalan Bangsar; Jalan Kemuja; Jalan Maarof; Jalan Sultan Ismail-Jalan Ampang junction; Jalan Pantai Baru; Jalan Pudu; Jalan Raja Chulan near Ambank and Telekom Museum; Jalan Maharajalela and Jalan Permaisuri.

He said DBKL had stationed 50 traffic personnel and mobilised 10 rescue squads for any emergences.

"Heavy rain began late evening causing several roads to be inundated by 0.6 metre of water.

"Nonetheless, the water in most of the roads have subsided except Jalan Permaisuri which is still flooded,” he told Bernama when contacted today. — Bernama
