SERI ISKANDAR, March 9 — One of the aspirations of the 2050 National Transformation (TN50) is for the Malaysian football team to qualify for the World Cup, said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

In addition, Khairy also wants universities in Malaysia such as Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) to be on par with internationally renowned universities like the University of Oxford.

"I also want to see by then (2050) a scientist winning the Nobel prize and   paintings by our artists placed in world-renowned museum,” he said during a TN50 dialogue session at UiTM Seri Iskandar here yesterday night.

The programme which was also attended by Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir was telecast live on TV1 for an hour.

Khairy said any aspiration, especially by young people, will only be achieved if the people and leaders imbue the spirit of togetherness. — Bernama
