Six months jail for woman who slapped teacher

NIBONG TEBAL, March 8 — The Jawi Magistrate’s Court here today sentenced a woman to six months in prison and fined her RM2,000 or another two months in jail after finding her guilty of slapping a teacher, two years ago.

Magistrate Shamshol Azwa Martadza ruled that the defence had failed to cast any reasonable doubt on the prosecution’s case against Tan Seow Yen, 36.

Tan committed the offence at a school here at 5.15pm on Feb 2, 2015.

The housewife who has three children aged between eight years and 14 years

slapped the teacher after the latter was claimed to have pinched her son.

The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Afiq Nasrin Zaharinan while Tan was represented by counsel Mohd Ismail Mohamed.  — Bernama
