PM congratulates divers Pandelela and Jun Hoong over Fina win

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today congratulated national women’s diving pair Pandelela Rinong Pamg and Cheong Jun Hoong for winning the silver medal at the Fina Diving World Series 2017 held in Beijing last night.

"Once again our queen divers Pandelela, Cheong Jun Hoong brought glory to the country, a silver medal at #FINA #DWS2017! Congratulations!”, said the prime minister on his Twitter.

According to the official website, the Malaysian pair won the medal after collecting 316.08 points in the women’s 10m synchronised platform event on the first day of the tournament.

Chang Yani/Ren Qia of China won the gold medal with 340.26 points while Kim Kuk Hyang/Kim Mi Rae of North Korea won the bronze after collecting 313.92 points.

Pandelela/Jun Hoong were the silver medallists at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in the women’s 10m platform synchronised last year. — Bernama
