SEPANG, Feb 24 — Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad is to work with the Immigration Department to have a system at KLIA and KLIA2 for Malaysian passengers to check whether they are on the travel blacklist.

MAHB managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali the passengers could check whether they had been blacklisted by the Inland Revenue Board, National Higher Education Fund Corporation or Department of Insolvency.

He spoke to reporters after Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali made an official visit to the KL International Airport.

Badlisham said the system required the installation of a device at KLIA and KLIA2 before the immigration counters for passengers to check their blacklist status.

"Passengers will only have to place their passport on the device to know their status,” he said, adding that the facility could be available by April.

He said that at present family members of a blacklisted passenger would have gone past immigration and left the passenger behind. — Bernama
