SEPANG, Feb 24 — Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad has been successful in detecting prohibited items at its airports, said MAHB managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali.

He said these items included aerosol, gel and liquids.

MAHB’s machines were calibrated to what the Department of Civil Aviation wanted to measure and by taking the cue from the National Security Council, he said.

"Those standards apply to us. We cannot be complacent,” he said when asked to comment on the capability of MAHB’s machines to detect hazardous and prohibited items and liquids.

Earlier, Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali made an official visit to the KL International Airport. — Bernama
