PUTRAJAYA, Feb 15 — A mortuary van believed to be ferrying the body of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s half brother, Kim Jong-nam, has left the Putrajaya Hospital here.

The white van, which was escorted by four police vehicles, was seen rushing off from the scene at 8.55 am today to avoid media personnel who had been camping at the hospital’s forensic department since yesterday evening.

Also spotted in one of the police vehicles was Sepang OCPD ACP Abdul Aziz Ali.

Reporters, including the foreign press, were left clueless when the van left the mortuary, which has been heavily guarded by hospital security, unexpectedly.

A source at the hospital said a body of a foreigner was being brought to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for post-mortem.

"Specialists at the hospital here decided that the mortuary was not suitable to conduct the post mortem here as HKL has bigger space and facilities,” he told reporters here.

Police have confirmed a North Korean who died at the KL International Airport 2 (klia2) on Monday was Kim Jong-nam. — Bernama
