KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 ― Tan Sri Tony Fernandes was overjoyed to have shared the stage last night with world number one DJ Martin Garrix, grooving along as the latter played his music to a live audience.
The AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer who took stage with the 20 year-old at the group's 15th year anniversary event praised Garrix for staying humble despite his successes at an early age.
"I can retire now. Being on the same platform as world number one DJ, Martin Garrix.
"Humble and just someone who loved what he did. Was a joy for me to experience and see the enjoyment he brought,” he posted on his Facebook page today.
Calling Garrix "special”, Fernandes also commended him on managing his talent properly and not letting his ego overshadow it.
"Talent is god given. But managing ego when you have talent is an even greater gift. Martin Garrix take a bow. You are special,” a face-painted Fernandez added.
Garrix was a surprise guest at AirAsia's All Star dinner last night at KLCC.There was also a surprise performance from Korean American singer-songwriter Jay Park as well.
Several commenters on Fernandes Facebook page even asked for Garrix’s music to be included in AirAsia's inflight playlist.
"Didn't see this coming, now just add his music to AirAsia in flight playlist,” one Facebook user, Hari Devan posted.
