KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 — Some 200 supporters of the Red Shirts movement have started gathering today at the Sogo complex here to counter the Bersih 5 rally.

The Star Online reported that the Red Shirts, who appear to be mostly men, harassed people at the Masjid Jamek LRT station, catcalling women.

Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos was arrested earlier this morning, reportedly over a fracas between him and the police at the Ampang Point mall last Sunday.

The pro-government Red Shirts movement has been accused of assaulting Bersih supporters and even the media during the Bersih convoy ahead of the Bersih 5 rally.

Pictures shared on social media showed that many of the Red Shirts had their faces covered.

Bersih 5, organised by polls reform group Bersih 2.0, is pushing for free and fair elections, a clean government and a stronger democracy.
