More than 1,000 civil servants nabbed for graft since 2014

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested 1,037 personnel from government departments and agencies for corruption between 2014 and September this year, Datuk Paul Low said.

The minister in Prime Minister’s Department, in parliamentary written reply to Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai on November 1, also revealed that more than RM150 million was seized and frozen in the period.

"In 2014, monies seized was RM113 million, RM30 million in 2015 and RM27 million for this year, until Sept,” he said.

Tan had asked Low to specify the number of public workers who have been detained for corruption from 2014 until now.
