TUMPAT, Oct 31 — The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives And Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) today sealed an edible oil packaging plant in Pengkalan Kubor suspected of selling subsidised products to certain parties in a neighbouring country.
Kelantan KPDNKK director Datuk Ab Ghani Harun said enforcement officers raided the premises at 12.30 noon today after a tip-off and surveillance on the dubious sale activities.
"A total of 765 kilograms (kg) of packaged oil, 20,650 kg of cooking oil stored in tanks estimated to be worth RM52,000 and a RM80,000 packaging machine were seized,” he told a media conference here today.
Ab Ghani said the activity had caused leakages and hardship to local residents as there was shortage of cooking oil.
He said KPDNKK would continue to monitor the situation especially in the Malaysia-Thailand border areas to prevent further losses to the country. — Bernama
