PUTRAJAYA, Oct 20 — Tan Sri Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof has been appointed on a one-year contract as Education director-general from Oct 19, the Education Ministry announced today.

A ministry statement issued here today, Khair has held the post since Dec 8, 2013 until his compulsory retirement on Oct 17.

Khair served as Education deputy director-general (Education Policy and Development) from 2010-2012 and Education deputy director-general (Teaching Professionalism Development) from 2012 to 2013. — Bernama
