PETALING JAYA, Oct 6 ― PKR Youth deputy chief Dr Afif Bahardin denounced Datuk Jamal Md Yunos today after the anti-Bersih rally organiser tore and flushed down a letter of demand from the electoral watchdog in a toilet.

"I view that as a rude act and not reflective of the identity of a Malay and a Muslim,” Dr Afif told a news conference at the PKR headquarters here.

He also linked the controversial leader of the Red Shirt movement who has made it a personal mission to disrupt Bersih 2.0’s programmes to Umno, though the Malay nationalist party’s leaders have said Jamal does not represent their party.

Jamal’s toilet antics were his response to being issued a letter of demand to for an apology within 48 hours by lawyers for Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah for linking the group to Islamic State (IS) terrorists.

The legal letter warned that legal action would be taken against Jamail for defamation if he did not agree to their request.
