ALOR SETAR, Oct 5 — There has yet to be any clue or indication regarding the two Malaysian soldiers reported missing at sea near Langkawi, two days ago, until 3pm today.

The Army Headquarters in a statement today said the Search and Rescue operation which entered its third day today, was still ongoing covering a search area of 60 nautical miles.

It said the SAR involved the Royal Malaysian Navy assets including KD Ledang, KD Laksamana Tun Abdul Jamil and KD Selangor, besides Marine Special Force who would dive around the island, and a Super Lynx helicopter.

The two soldiers, who are members of the Fourth Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment, were on duty at Pulau Perak when they went missing after falling into the sea.

Both Corporal Johbartlee Kanil, 32, from Kota Marudu, Sabah and Corporal Mohd Faizol Rosli, 29, from Baling, Kedah, are based in Oran, Perlis. — Bernama
