KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — A group of foreigners, believed to be Australians, were detained by the police at the Sepang International Circuit for stripping down to their underwear…depicting the Malaysian flag.

According to The Star Online, the men were said to have taken off their clothes and revealed their briefs to spectators at the Malaysia Grand Prix.

They were subsequently nabbed for public indecency and disrespecting the national flag, with Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Aziz Ali confirming the arrests.

He said the nine men aged between 25 and 29, were under the influence of alcohol when they flashed their underwear to the crowds in the stands.

"Investigations revealed that they bought the undies from down under,” the policeman told the daily.

He added that they will be remanded for four days.
