KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) today said that there was no official information or confirmation yet from the authorities on a revision of passenger service charges (PSC).  As such, MAHB said it would continue to liaise with the relevant authorities on any potential revision to the PSC.

"We are not in a position to make any statement on the matter,” said MAHB in a filing to Bursa Malaysia, adding that further announcements will be made upon being officially notified by the relevant authorities.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai was recently quoted as saying that a new set of PSC, commonly known as airport tax, was set to be implemented by Jan 1, 2017.

However, the minister declined to elaborate on details except to say that the revised airport tax would be announced by the Malaysian Aviation Commission since the subject came under the purview of the commission. — Bernama
