Free rides on Kelana Jaya LRT line from September 13-15

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 — All commuters using the Rapid KL Light Rail Transit (LRT) Kelana Jaya line between Putra Heights and Gombak can enjoy free rides for three days beginning tomorrow, announced Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana). 

Prasarana in a statement today said that commuters who change lines to the LRT Sri Petaling/Ampang Line, Monorail or Bus Rapid Transit-Sunway Line (BRT) at the integrated stations would have to pay the difference in fares for the three lines.

Similarly, commuters coming from the BRT, Sri Petaling/Ampang and Monorail Line and continuing into the Kelana Jaya Line, the segment travel on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line will be complimentary. 

The LRT Kelana Jaya Line connects with the Sri Petaling Line at the Masjid Jamek and Putra Heights LRT stations.

According to the statement, the BRT operated by Prasarana’s subsidiary, Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd, connects with the Kelana Jaya Line at the USJ 7 station and as such, cash users can collect their free tokens at the customer service counter.

For those who don’t use cash, they can use their cards as usual, while commuter from the Kelana Jaya line to the Sri Petaling/Ampang, Monorail, BRT  lines can use the cards or get the tokens from the Ticket Vending Machines.

In addition, Prasarana is also providing a 50 per cent fare discount on LRT and Monorail lines and BRT users before 7am from September 16. — Bernama
