KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 ― Police personnel must be cautious when handling information in the digital age to avoid exposing classified information, Bukit Aman’s Management Director Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah said today.

"I would like to remind all the civil servants working in PDRM to follow all the orders that have been given especially those related to the safety of files,” he said in a speech today.

Zulkifli added that information leaks might occurred previously due to technological advances, which he said required more stringent measures to prevent.

Beyond contravening the Official Secrets Act, he said such leaks could have consequences on police activities.

"The improvement in communication technologies have also contributed to the leaks of team 'secrets', especially those involving PDRM operations which have been accessed by irresponsible parties,” he stressed

Zulkifli also say that Bukit Aman would not hesitate to take action those found to be leaking classified information.
