KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — Scores of commuters were stranded in stations all along the Kelana Jaya LRT line this morning after power supply to the train service was disrupted.
Trains that remained operational were also moving slower than usual and were packed to the brim with those who managed to board.
Others not so fortunate were stuck on platforms in lines that extended past the turnstiles and outside some stations.
"Train is experiencing delay due to power trip from Masjid Jamek to Ampang Park,” RapidKL that operates the train service announced on Twitter.
"Power is up between Setiawangsa to Damai. Team is still working to power up entire line.”
It said it was providing additional shuttle services to commuters, but advised them to seek alternate means of transport until the problem is resolved.
The extended LRT line was opened in August, but commuters have since complained that the added stations have increased congestion beyond the capacity of the trains.
