KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 — Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) has postponed its triennial delegates conference (TDC) due this year for the second time, The Borneo Post reported today.

According to the report, the Sarawak Barisan Nasional coalition’s lynchpin party that was supposed to have the conference next month will now only hold it in April or May 2018 to pave for a smooth transition of power from its incumbent president Tan Sri Adenan Satem who is also state chief minister.

Adenan had reportedly said that he would only lead the state for one term.

"Our TDC is due this October, but we wish to postpone it for [another] 18 months,” PBB secretary-general Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi was quoted as saying.

The reason, he reportedly said, was to allow the party to fulfil its pledges that it had made during the Sarawak state election in May.

It is reported to be the second time PBB has postponed its TDC after Adenan took charge of the state’s administration in 2014.
