KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — A woman driver was killed when the sheave hook of an overhead crane at a building under construction landed on her car in Jalan Raja Chulan near the Pavilion shopping complex yesterday.

Chin Khoon Sing, 24, was found pinned inside the wrecked Perodua Kelisa when rescue personnel arrived at the scene soon after the 7.15pm incident.

Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Abu Hassan Abdul Rahman said they were alerted to the incident at 7.23pm.

"The hook from the construction crane gave way and fell on the car, pinning the driver in her seat,” he said.

Chin was pronounced dead by medical personnel and the body was moved to  Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem.
