KOTA BARU, Aug 23 — PAS is willing to discuss with any party wishing to cooperate with it, including Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Pribumi) which is reported to be looking at chances of standing in opposition-held areas in the 14th General Election (GE14).

PAS vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said however, the discussion was not offered to the DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) which were considered as traitors to PAS.

"The stand is clear because the DAP had explained its attitude which is anti-PAS and the latest, its Youth committee had also stated that if it (PAS) wanted to be friendly with the DAP then don’t talk about Islam.

"How can PAS, as an Islamic party do that...of course we will not sacrifice our party struggles. Amanah, meanwhile, is a traitor to the party (PAS)... if it is with other parties, the matter can be discussed,” he told reporters after the 18th convocation ceremony of the Kolej Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Ismail Petra (KIAS) at the Balai Islam, Lundang here today.

The convocation was officiated by Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob and also present was KIAS chief executive Prof Dr Ab Aziz Mohd Zain.

Mohd Amar disclosed this when commenting on the statement by Pribumi protem president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who intended to have discussions on the allocation of opposition seats, as soon as the registration of the party was approved by the Registrar of Societies.

Mohd Amar said so far, there had been no official negotiations held between PAS and Pribumi on the matter. — Bernama
