KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 — There is no necessity to appoint Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who plans to register Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, as the new Opposition Leader for now.

The director of communications Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Khalid Abdul Samad said he was also satisfied with the ‘achievement and performance’ of the present Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah.

"We have no problems with Wan Azizah as the Opposition Leader. To change the leader does not depend on Amanah alone, the other parties too have to be considered as well as the candidates available.

"Whatever it is, the decision has to be made collectively. I am certain, a consensus should be obtained to determine who can be made the Opposition Leader. There are many people with the potentials and can be considered for appointment as the leader based on the outcome of the general election later,” he said at a media conference at the party’s office here today. — Bernama
