KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 — Politicians like Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin are desperate as they have no qualms working with sworn enemies like the DAP just to form a new government, an Umno leader has said.

Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said the decision by the former Umno leaders to form splinter party Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and work together with the opposition to destroy Umno showed that they had no moral fibre.

"This is the lowest of the low of politicians. They can sit with their enemy not to form a government but just to bring down Umno.

"This is just how low they can go," he told Malay Mail Online when contacted.

The Padang Rengas MP was responding to Parti Pribumi protem committee chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who said that his new party was willing to work with DAP despite having a difference of opinion over various issues.

Among the issues which brought Dr Mahathir and the DAP together, the former claimed, is the goal of removing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is also Umno president.

Dr Mahathir had in the past criticised DAP for being racist during his time as Umno president

DAP too has hurled insults at the former prime minister for his iron-fisted 27 years of administration of the country and his harsh treatment of government critics.
