BALIK PULAU, Aug 12 — Veteran comedian and actor Shafiee Jaafar, better known as Pak Piee, 85, died at his daughter’s house in Teluk Bahang, here at 9pm last night due to old age.

His close friend Omar Md Hashim who is also an artiste, confirmed the death of Pak Piee after being informed by the latter’s daughter Subariah.

"He is expected to be buried tomorrow (August 12) after Friday prayers at the Muslim cemetery in Teluk Bahang,” he said.

A Bernama check found a crowd comprising family members and acquaintances of the deceased gathering at his daughter’s house to pay their last respects.

Shapiee was born on January 9, 1931 and has been active as an actor and a host since the 80s, besides starring in various films such as Mami Jarum, Nana Tanjung and Kongsi. — Bernama
