SINGAPORE, Aug 12 — Authorities have arrested six people and seized drugs with a street value of S$138,000 (RM411,653) after an operation yesterday that ended near Queenstown.

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) were conducting observations on a suspected drug trafficker and his accomplice at Balestier Road and Queenstown when the suspected trafficker met up with a 40-year-old Malaysian man on Boon Teck Road.

Officers then followed the 33-year-old suspected trafficker to an area near Queenstown and arrested him. Inside his car, they found nearly 1.4kg of heroin, 320g of ‘ice’, a bottle of methadone and some digital scales. They also found S$600 on the suspect.

The Malaysian man and his Malaysian wife, 31, were later arrested at the Woodlands checkpoint as they tried to exit Singapore. A total of RM900 (S$300) was found on the couple while an additional S$7,000 was found inside the woman’s handbag.

Another raid at the suspected trafficker’s residence in Queenstown resulted in the arrest of the trafficker’s 49-year old accomplice and two more Singaporean suspects, a 43-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman. Cash totalling S$3,400, 30g of heroin and 10g of ‘ice’ were also found.
