KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — MIC will continue to be an important partner to Umno and all component parties of Barisan Nasional (BN) to steer Malaysia towards future progress, says Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The prime minister also congratulated MIC on its 70th anniversary celebration today.

"Together, we shall continue to struggle,” he said in his latest Facebook and Twitter entries.

MIC was established on Aug 6, 1946 by the All-Malaya Indian Conference which was attended by various social organisations here and formed the Alliance with Umno and MCA in 1955. — Bernama
