Visiting Ukrainian president says KLCC, Putrajaya are symbols of hardworking Malaysians

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 4 — The visiting President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, while expressing admiration towards Malaysia, has described Petronas Twin Towers and Putrajaya as the symbols of Malaysia’s rapid progress and hardworking people.

In his remarks at a joint press conference with Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at the Perdana Putra here today, Poroshenko said he was greatly impressed by Malaysia’s high economic growth and always considered Malaysia as Ukraine’s most important partner in the Asia Pacific region.

"Dear friends, regardless of the geographical distance, our countries share 25 years history of mutual beneficial relation and fruitful and friendly cooperation.

"I’m absolutely convinced that a new chapter in a very special partnership between Ukraine and Malaysia,” he said.

While in Malaysia, Poroshenko accompanied by his wife, Maryna, visited several iconic location including the Petronas Twin Towers.

Poroshenko also extended his gratitude to Malaysia for demonstrating a warm hospitality to himself and his delegations and took the opportunity to invite Najib to visit Ukraine at his convenient time.
