PUTRAJAYA, July 25 — Parents who find that their children have missed immunisation and vaccination dosages according to the schedule set by the Health Ministry should go to the clinic to get revaccinated, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam.
He said the ministry was now focusing on detecting those who dropped out of the immunisation schedule.
"Apart from parental awareness, immunisation screening in schools will begin next month to detect those who missed getting the vaccine according to the national schedule.
"Parents of children who missed immunisation are advised to seek revaccination,” he told reporters after a special gathering with Health Ministry staff and retirees at the ministry’s head office, here today.
Dr Subramaniam said the ministry was adopting a persuasive approach with advice and information for the parents about the importance of immunisation and would leave it to the parents to decide based on the information provided. — Bernama
