Elderly man burns to death after car catches fire at Loke Yew toll plaza

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 ― The burnt remains of a man, believed to be in his 50s, has been found in the wreckage of a car which caught fire at the Loke Yew toll plaza along the Sungai Besi Highway (Besraya) this morning.

City Fire and Rescue Department chief operations officer Samsol Maarif Saibani was quoted telling The Star that a distress call was received at about 6.40am and six firemen arrived at the scene 10 minutes later.

It is learnt that the vehicle burst into flames after ploughing into a toll divider.
