PUTRAJAYA, July 6 — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan wants to expose the public on the functions of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) in simple terms.

He said the people should understand the functions of the EPU given that it is an important national central agency.

"I intend to restore the EPU to the people in a simple language as it is quite complex and want to facilitate their understanding of this unit,” he told reporters at the Aidilfitri open house of the Prime Minister and Cabinet ministers at Seri Perdana here today.

Abdul Rahman was asked to comment on his new portfolio at the EPU of the Prime Minister’s Department after the Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on June 28.

On the 2017 Budget, he said EPU would hold a briefing on its preparation after Aidilfitri. — Bernama
