KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 ― Police have identified some of the locations here that self-confessed child lover Richard Huckle is believed to have visited for his sex romps with toddlers and minors.

According to The Star Online, Bukit Aman CID deputy director (investigations and legal) Deputy Commissioner Datuk Law Hong Soon also confirmed that the agency has identified several people believed to be acquaintances of the man that UK media have dubbed “Britain’s worst paedophile”.

"At the moment, we have identified the places and have gone to several locations that he had visited,” he was quoted as saying after a function here.

"We are in the process of recording the statements of those who had been in touch with Huckle while awaiting Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to share more information of his paedophilic activities.

"We still haven't received any reports from the victims or their caretakers and parents," he reportedly added.

According to DCP Law, police are also looking for the children who Huckle allegedly exploited for sex.

On how Huckle managed to operate under the radar for so many years, DCP Law reportedly pointed out that the social worker had been in the country legally.

"Police were unable to identify his atrocious activities mainly because he used the dark web which can only be accessed by members," he was quoted as saying in The Star Online.

Huckle is facing several life sentences for the sexual abuse of babies and children aged between six months and 12 years from 2006 to 2014.

Huckle, who is believed to have abused up to 200 children, reportedly admitted at a London court on Wednesday to 71 of 91 charges related to 23 girls and boys that included rape and sexual assault. Twenty-two children are reportedly from mainly impoverished Christian communities in Kuala Lumpur, where he posed as an English teacher and Christian philanthropist, while one is Cambodian.

UK broadcaster Sky News reported that Huckle, whose computer allegedly had over 20,000 indecent images of children, had offered to help teach at schools and churches in Malaysia and was sometimes employed for private tuition in his victims’ homes. He had lived permanently in Malaysia from 2011 until December 2014 when he was arrested at Gatwick Airport in the UK.

During his time in Malaysia, the 30-year-old is believed to have had some ties with the Community of Praise church, which has branches in Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya, and in Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur.

According to a source, Huckle visited the church as a photographer and met with impoverished ethnic Indian families who came to the worship home for food handouts.

The source added that Huckle did not volunteer teaching at the church and that the photographer’s victims were from the surrounding community, but were not technically members of the church.

A group photograph posted on April 30, 2011, on the Community of Praise’s Facebook page shows Huckle posing with what appears to be the ethnic Indian congregation, including children, on Easter Day, April 24, at the Community of Praise Taman Wahyu church located in Kuala Lumpur.
