Huckle’s parents begged cops to take son away, London court hears

KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — The parents of Briton Richard Huckle no longer wanted their paedophile son under their roof in Kent, England, after the 30-year-old confessed to raping children, according to UK’s Daily Mail.

The former grammar schoolboy accused of raping and sexually assaulting children in Malaysia and elsewhere in Southeast Asia had been bailed under strict conditions to his parents’ Edwin and Christina’s home in Ashford before he was charged with the crimes, the daily’s report said.

Prosecutor Brian O’Neill QC was quoted as telling Old Bailey at the second day of Huckle’s sentencing hearing that the youth’s father had been at the airport to greet his son and that investigators conducted a search of the family home while he was in custody.

“His mother questioned him about the allegations and he admitted to her that he had sexual activity with children aged three to 13.

“His mother was extremely upset and extremely angry. She and his father called the police and asked them to take their son away, making it clear they didn’t want him under their roof,” the London court reportedly heard.

The daily added that Huckle now faces up to 22 life sentences after he admitted to 71 charges, including for rape, sexual assault and sexual activity with a child.

The report said both Huckle’s parents gave witness statements supporting the prosecution’s case.

UK media yesterday reported that Huckle, who is believed to have abused up to 200 children, admitted to 71 of the 91 charges related to 23 girls and boys.

The offences were allegedly committed between 2006 and 2014.

Twenty-two children are reportedly from mainly impoverished Christian communities in Kuala Lumpur, where he posed as an English teacher and Christian philanthropist, while one is Cambodian.

Huckle, reportedly took pictures and video footage of himself abusing the children which he uploaded to the dark web ― a hard to access part of the Internet often used for illegal activity.

Investigators found over 20,000 indecent images on his computer, while Huckle also kept a ledger of his attacks and wrote a manual called Paedophiles And Poverty: Child Lover Guide.

It is unknown which churches Huckle, who lived permanently in Malaysia from 2011 until December 2014 when he was arrested at Gatwick Airport in the UK, reportedly worked with.
