SHAH ALAM, May 31 — Selangor police scored a major success when they seized 600,000 Eramin 5 pills worth RM9 million at a warehouse in Telok Gong, Port Klang on May 22.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said the seizure at about 2pm was following the arrest of a man in his 30s with 60 boxes of the pill in a Toyota Vellfire car in the same area on May 18.

“The suspect led police to the warehouse in Jalan Udang Gantung where police seized 60 boxes containing 600,000 of the pills weighing 17.52 kg.

“A pill costs RM15 in the market. Preliminary investigations found the drug was brought in a container shipment and declared as medicine of various types,” he told a media conference here, today.

He said the investigations also found that the pills seized at the warehouse was the third shipment into the country while the pills in possession of the suspect arrested, was the second consignment.

“From the information we received, the first shipment into the country, comprising the same number of pills, slipped through,” he said.

Abdul Samah said police would conduct a comprehensive investigation from various aspects including the possibility of involvement of people in the port authority.

He said police were also hunting down an accomplice of the detained suspect. — Bernama
