JOHOR BARU, May 27 — An 18-year-old student has alleged that a Road Transport Department (RTD) officer had outraged her modesty while she was undergoing a driving test.

Eng Wei Xin, who is an O-level student in Singapore, alleged the officer had purposely brushed her breast with his forearm during the test at 12.10pm on April 25 at the Bunga Raya Driving School.

“I was shocked when he did that. I know what he was up to by purposely stretching his hand to pass me the results of my test.

“I ran out of the car in tears and went to the office of the driving school where I met another officer to complain about the incident. The officer asked me to lodge a police report,” said Eng.

Eng and her parents yesterday sought the assistance of Michael Tay of the Johor Baru MCA Complains Bureau as they had heard nothing from the police after lodging a report at the Permas Jaya police station a month ago.

“I will write to the Johor Baru central police chief on the progress of the investigation,” said Tay.

“I am not pointing fingers at the department’s officers but such a serious matter warrants a thorough investigation by the police. The poor girl is traumatised by the experience.”

Tay pointed out that what angered Eng even more was that the RTD officer had dared her to lodge a police report.

“If only the RTD officer had admitted that it was accidental she would have accepted it and moved on,” said Tay.

Johor Baru central police chief ACP Suleiman Salleh confirmed he had seen the report and said that police were investigating.

“We will keep her informed,” said Suleiman.
