GEORGE TOWN, May 24 ― About 20 per cent of the RM4.6 billion allocated for Penang under the 11th Malaysia Plan was already implemented under the first rolling plan, revealed Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Osman today.
The Penang Federal Action Council chairman said the implementation of the projects in Penang was fast and according to schedule.

He said the RM4.6 billion allocated were divided into four main areas; logistics and roads, health, sewerage treatment and affordable homes.
There are a total nine projects, totalling RM2.2 billion, to improve road infrastructure and logistics.
“These will be expected to be completed by 2017,” he said.
For health services, RM520 million was allocated to upgrade both the Penang Hospital and Seberang Jaya Hospital.
RM1.77 billion was allocated for sewerage treatment facilities that included building of pipes and infrastructure.
“We also set aside RM125 million for affordable housing to build cluster villages,” he said.
These projects will be rolled out in the state in phases, he added.
