KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 — DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang returned to the Dewan Rakyat today after serving a six-month suspension for allegedly insulting the Speaker.

The veteran politician upon his arrival spoke to reporters and said he would continue seek an explanation on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) controversy.

The DAP advisor also appeared pleased by his return and said that “it is good” to be back in the House after a long time.

“It is good (to be back), but we need to hear answers from the government and the Parliament in pursuing the true story on 1MDB.

“Don’t allow international press and  foreign governments to do the job of our Parliament authorities,” he said.

Lim was suspended in October last year for allegedly insulting Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.

Pandikar had ordered Lim to apologise or retract his remarks questioning credibility following the suspension of the Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) probe into state investment firm 1MDB.

Pandikar also ordered the DAP parliamentary leader to explain himself at the next opportune time, as the latter was not in the Dewan Rakyat at the time.

Lim, however, did not apologise or retract his remarks, and went on to add that even the public would agree that Pandikar had abused his powers by suspending the PAC’s probe on 1MDB.
