PETALING JAYA, May 13 — Newly appointed Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas has resigned from his post as federal Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nancy Shukri is currently the acting Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister and will be answering parliamentary questions next week on matters related to the ministry, The Star Online reported today.

News of Uggah’s resignation was confirmed by his office when contacted by the news portal. 

Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem announced today his 10-member state Cabinet, naming three deputy chief ministers.

The three are Uggah, Parti Rakyat Sarawak president Tan Sri Dr James Masing and PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Abang Johari Openg.

Apart from being a deputy chief minister, Uggah will also be Sarawak Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Rural Economy.
