KUCHING, May 8 — Sarawak’s Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem and his wife expressed their heartfelt condolences to family members of victims of the helicopter mishap near Sebuyau, some 250km from here last Thursday.

In the helicopter crash, five people died including the Plantation Industries and Commodities deputy minister Datuk Noriah Kasnon.

“They will always be remembered for their sacrifice which have all been to ensure the well being and the continuous development of Sarawak and the country,” he said in a press statement released here today.

Of the six people on board, so far, the search team has found the bodies of Plantation Industries and Commodities deputy minister Datuk Noriah Kasnon, her husband Asmuni Abdullah, Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad, who is also Malaysian Palm Oil Board chairman, the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Dr Sundaran Annamalai and Noriah’s bodyguard Ahmad Sobri Harun.

The search operation to locate the Filipino pilot, Capt Rudolf Rex Ragas is on-going. — Bernama
