KUCHING, May 6 ― Voters in Batu Kawah must accept Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem's call for Chinese representation in the state Cabinet by voting in BN candidate Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian tomorrow said Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem.

Riot said Chinese voters in Sarawak are fortunate because Adenan had already promised that Sim would be appointed in the state Cabinet if the SUPP president wins the Batu Kawah seat in the May 7 polls.

Riot who is also the SUPP deputy president said as a full minister in the state Cabinet, Sim would be able to bring about development to the people of Sarawak and fulfill the needs of the Chinese.

“Do not believe the 'sweet promises' made by the opposition or independent candidates because even if they won, they would not be able to carry out any development programmes for the people,” he told reporters after meeting the people at Taman Desa Wira, Jalan Batu Kawah, here today.

Riot said although Batu Kawah was in the hands of DAP for the past five years, there has been no development in the area.

Meanwhile, Sim when met said he had campaigned effectively in the constituency and hoped the people of Batu Kawah will give him the mandate to be in the Cabinet by ensuring his victory.
