According to Adenan, Datuk Peter Nyomek Nyeap who is contesting as an independent candidate had been telling people around that he will be part of Barisan Nasional (BN) after the election.

"Do not to vote for him, he is telling you lies. According to sources he had been telling to the people that regardless of the outcome, he will join BN. "My message to him is clear, I would like to say no thank you," Adenan said at a talk at Kampung Bijuray Mongag. Adenan said that Nyomek should use his own name during his campaign period and not claim to be a BN member. "Once you are outside, you are on your own. Do not use the name of BN. In here there is only one candidate from the party and his name is Miro Simuh. "Win or lose we will not admit you into our party, we do not need him," Adenan added. The Sarawak CM said he hopes voters would not be fooled by Nyomek's tricks. Serembu is one of eleven new seats for the upcoming Sarawak state election. The seat will witness a four-cornered fight with BN's Miro Simuh up against Athina Klaywa Sim of PKR, Buln Patrick Ribos of State Reform Party (Star) and independent candidate, Nyomek.
