“PCIRC @PDRMsia, kesan dan tkap orang ini dgn segera,” the Inspector-General of Police wrote on his Twitter account last night, referring to the Police Cyber Investigation Response Centre.
[Translation: PCIRC@PDRMsia, trace and arrest this individual immediately] Khalid also attached two screencaps along with his tweet, which show the profile picture of the Facebook user named “Gunalan Muniandy” as well as some of his comments.
In his comments, Gunalan referred to the Malays as “stupid” and used terms like “babi” (pig) when mentioning the Muslim God.
Screencaps of Gunalan’s Facebook posts that are being circulated on social media suggest that he had uploaded a photoshopped image of the Kaabah, a holy site for Muslims in Mecca. The comment by Gunalan that drew the IGP’s attention is believed to have been made after he posted the image. A check on his Facebook page however did not show any of the said comments or images, possibly because the page account’s settings have been changed to private. Khalid’s tweet ordering Gunalan’s arrest has been retweeted 227 times and liked 102 times since last night.
