PETALING JAYA, April 20 — Police shot dead a suspect and arrested three others including a woman after receiving a tip-off that the four were planning to carry out a factory robbery early this morning here at Jalan Kilang.
Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said police had to open fire in self-defence after one of the vehicles driven by a suspect rammed a police MPV.
A police personnel on a motorcycle was also hit by the vehicle.
“One suspect was shot dead while the injured suspect was the woman accomplice. The police officer on the motorcycle suffered minor injuries,” he said.
Initial investigations show that the vehicles were reported stolen.
All the suspects were locals aged between 20 and 30, and believed to be involved in a series of factory robberies in the Klang Valley.
