KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — Emirates and Malaysia Airlines have strengthened their collaborations by introducing 15 new domestic routes and unveiling frequent flying benefits under their codeshare agreement.
“The routes are Langkawi, Penang, Alor Star, Kota Baru, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Johor Baru, Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau and Labuan,” said Emirates Executive Vice President/Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori in a statement today.
He said the codeshare with Malaysia Airlines will provide more seamless travel options for the airline’s passengers to visit the 15 places in Malaysia and elsewhere in the region with a convenient connection in Kuala Lumpur.
“The travellers from the region will also benefit from the expanded network including 90 destinations spanning Europe, West Asia, Africa and the Americas,” he said.
Emirates Skywards members and Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich members, members of the airlines’ frequent flyer programmes, will be able to accrue and redeem miles on all international and domestic flights operated by both airlines.
Emirates also announced that it would offer special fares for travellers in Malaysia from now until April 8 for travel until Dec 31. — Bernama
